This month, we are supporting B. B. is a queer trans* refugee from Libya and urgently needs legal assistance.

The situation for queer people in Libya is extremely dangerous. In Libya, B. experienced severe trauma, including kidnapping and sexual violence, which continues to cause ongoing psychological distress. Nevertheless, their asylum application was rejected as manifestly unfounded/inadmissible. The person has been granted a ban on deportation in Germany, yet the immigration authorities have been refusing to issue a residence permit for months and are blocking the change of residence, despite important health and safety reasons.

At their previous place of residence in Thuringia, B. and another queer person were victims of a serious attack. Since then, there have been repeated threats from the perpetrators, which is why the person fled to Leipzig for protection. However, the responsible authority refuses to officially change their place of residence.

Queer trans* people must be protected at all costs! That is why we are supporting B. in paying for a lawyer and obtaining a change of residence and residence permit.
