About us

We have observed that individuals who receive a negative asylum decision rarely appeal the decision of the relevant authorities. The reason for this is often a lack of financial resources to hire a lawyer. In Saxony, asylum seekers are systematically denied state-funded legal aid under the pretext that an appeal would have little chance of success. If one does not file an appeal, the chances of success are, of course, relatively low. This lack of financial support for people facing deportation motivated us to found Peperoncini in September 2015.

What we do

We are primarily active in the following areas:

  1. Funding for Appeals Against a Negative Asylum Decision
    • We assist with finding a lawyer, funding the appeal, and, if necessary, arranging language mediation.
  2. Funding and Support for Additional Applications and Proceedings
    • For example, when applying for residence permits for family members, filing follow-up asylum applications, or facing criminal proceedings based on allegations of “illegal” entry.
  3. Support and funding for language mediation or document translation
  4. Public relations work and campaigns on the right to remain and the protection of people threatened with deportation
